You can kill people in various ways. Some will argue that the most efficient way is to hit someone six times in the foot with a fire extinguisher. Using SS13's .debug command, I'll detail how many strikes it will take to take anyone down.
First, to figure out how I found these values, host your own singleplayer server. Once you get in the game, type .debug status and press enter. Something like this should appear in the text window:
Connections: [YOUR KEY IS HERE]
Run Time: 3884.6s
Sleeping procs:
/world/New
/datum/control/gameticker/proc/extend_process
/obj/item/weapon/infra/proc/process 16
/obj/item/weapon/timer/proc/process 18
/obj/item/weapon/infra_sensor/proc/process 9
Pick up the weapon / anything else you want to know specific ingame values (most of which will mean nothing to you) and click your key name. It will bring up the following:
Click any of the three links that are your ingame name. A long list of values that I won't quote will pop up. Scroll down until you find the ones that say l_hand and r_hand. One of these will have a link to the object you're holding. Click the name of the object and the following list will pop up. I'm using a Fire Extinguisher:
I've bolded and put in red the values we want. Now we know that the Fire Extinguisher does Brute damage at an interval of 17 damage points per strike. Because of this, if you hit someone six times with a fire extinguisher ANYWHERE, they'll die. 6 * 17 = 102. It only takes 100 points of any damage type to send someone on a slow but reversible path to death. To ensure their death, strike them six more times.
The list below is a list of most objects and their damage values (and types).
Fire Extinguisher
Brute damage - 17 pts / strike
6 strikes to kill
LIT Weldingtool
Fire damage - 15 pts / strike
7 strikes to kill
Taser - HARM INTENT
Brute damage - 10 pts / strike
10 (maybe 11) strikes to kill
+ 10 second Stutter / Weakened status (cannot move)
Toolbox
Brute damage - 8 pts / strike
13 strikes to kill
Laser Gun
Brute damage - 7 pts / strike
15 strikes to kill
Wirecutters
Brute damage - 6 pts / strike
17 strikes to kill
Crowbar
Brute damage - 5 pts / strike
20 (maybe 21) strikes to kill
Wrench
Brute damage - 5 pts / strike
20 (maybe 21) strikes to kill
Screwdriver
Brute damage - 5 pts / strike
20 (maybe 21) strikes to kill
Metal sheet
Brute damage - 5 pts / strike
20 (maybe 21) strikes to kill
UNLIT Weldingtool
Brute damage - 3 pts / strike
34 strikes to kill
Taser - DISARM, HELP, OR GRAB INTENT
No Damage
Cannot Kill
+ 60 second Stutter/ Weakened status (cannot move)
Flashbang - Point Blank
No Damage
Cannot Kill
+ 30 second Deafness / + 10 second Stunned status / + 3 second Weakened status (cannot move)
POSSIBLE PERMANENT DEAFNESS / BLINDNESS
Flashbangs add around 12 points to a hidden statistic called "eye_stat" each time one detonates near you. Once your eye_stat gets to around 25 (exact value unknown) you need glasses (far away tiles are covered with a black/transparent checkerboard pattern) and once the eye_stat gets to near 75 (again, unknown value) you go fully blind.
This list is incomplete, as I'm still playing around with how safe people are in fires without firesuits, how many hits armor and helmets can take before breaking, etc.
